How to Apply Your Mahi Mahi Fish Sticker
1. Preparation is Key: Before applying the fish sticker, ensure the surface of the boat is clean and dry. Any dirt, grime, or residue can prevent the sticker from adhering properly.
2. Clean the Surface: Using a mild detergent or boat cleaner, thoroughly clean the area where you plan to apply the fish sticker. Remove any grease, oil, or wax using a degreaser. Rinse the surface with clean water and allow it to dry completely.
3. Positioning the Sticker: Carefully position the fish sticker on the desired area of the boat. Use a measuring tape or ruler to ensure it is centred and aligned properly. Avoid placing the sticker over any surface imperfections or protrusions.
4. Applying the Sticker: Starting from one edge, slowly peel off the backing of the fish sticker while pressing the adhesive side onto the boat’s surface. Use a squeegee or credit card to smooth out any air bubbles and ensure a firm bond.
5. Removing Air Bubbles: If air bubbles form under the sticker during application, gently lift the affected area and smooth it out with a squeegee or your fingers. Work from the centre towards the edges to push out any trapped air.
6. Final Touches: Once the sticker is applied, press firmly along the edges to ensure a secure bond. Allow the adhesive to set for at least 24 hours before exposing it to water or harsh conditions.
How to Maintain: Just clean the sticker as you do your boat after use to prevent dirt buildup. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or brushes that may damage the sticker’s surface.
