Their goal was to obtain a custom design for fishing shirts as merchandise and to be used as a uniform for the staff on the farm.

The project – fishing shirt design

B.E.N.T. is an initiative of Zoe and Andrew, who run a Barramundi Experience out of Howard Springs in the Northern Territory. An experience like no other. Where else can you hand feed 1m+ Barramundi? Their customers range from locals to international tourists chasing that ‘big Australian barramundi’ adventure. The area is renowned for its monsoon forest and extensive woodlands.

We asked Zoe how she initially found us. ‘I had looked on the internet for Barramundi images and came across the Marine Graphics Ink amazing artwork. I fell in love with them. Although they were boat wraps, I could see them on shirts.’

The Puzzle

B.E.N.T. receives a stellar custom design for fishing shirts that people will associate with their brand. The illustration would be on staff uniforms and merchandise for marketing and an additional revenue stream.

The solution

We created two similar fishing shirt designs that went on apparel. They were bold, vibrant, and made from SPF 50+ lightweight fabric with colour-matched inks. The shirt is an ideal addition to the customer’s fishing gear, whether fishing for barra or just sitting in the sun. Additionally, the prominent logo is also ongoing promotion for their business.

B.E.N.T. were thrilled with the result. It gave them an in-demand piece of promotional merchandise and a uniform that protected them from the sun’s U.V. rays daily on the farm.

The result

The shirts were in demand. Being remote, B.E.N.T used their Facebook page and website to promote the shirts.

‘The shirts sold exceptionally quickly, as I guessed, the ghost was the most popular one. We still have people asking for our shirts. It must be about time to put in another order,’ said Zoe. ‘We sold the shirts through Facebook and customers coming to our website looking at our apparel range after the Barramundi Feeding.’

How did B.E.N.T find the MGI team to work with?

‘The team at Marine Graphics Ink were amazing, no task was too hard, and their follow-up was amazing. The artwork is spectacular, too,’ said Zoe. ‘This was right as COVID hit Australia. Having someone experienced at working remotely on design and be honest about lead times was refreshing.’
